Unfortunately in this specific county- and the majority of the state- everything is coming down from the Federal or State (VDOE) level- very little is actually left up to teachers or principals anymore- they are just the “box checkers” or “enforcers”. Our experience has been that if you do not know for certain what the interest or agenda of your child’s administrators are- or are certain they do not have one (you will know) then anything that has come to a point where escalation past a teacher needs to have the school board and all administrators cc’d on it
